This 1973 promotional film looks back at the groundbreaking and early construction of the new World Trade Center on the Dallas Market Center campus. One of the largest wholesale markets in the world, Dallas Market Center encompasses over 5 million square feet of buildings and services where buyers and sellers meet to do business. The World Trade Center opened in 1974. In the short film, Dallas Mayor Wes Wise and businessman William E. Cooper break ground on the project. Cooper then projects just how important the building will become for Texas and international trading.
