This 2003 student documentary shows mother-daughter duo Dusty and Erika Hartzog competing in a miniature horse show at the Diamond Arena Complex in Alvarado, Texas. Before the show, Dusty and Erika primp and groom their horses so that they may have the best chance of winning. They give their horses baths, brush their hair, paint their hooves, and practice walking. Eventually the horses’ numbers are called, and Dusty and Erika walk them into the competition area. The duo don’t place for the first round of competition and return to backstage. Dusty’s next horse’s number is called, and Dusty and Erika hurry to prepare the next horse. After presenting her horse, Dusty is declared the winner, and her horse is awarded with a big purple ribbon. Friends congratulate Dusty, the duo cleans up, and the competition ends.
