    American Airlines hangar, Meacham Field in Fort Worth, opened in 1937 as part of the WPA.  At boarding gate is Ernest M. Hunt, President, Martha Washington Candies, his grandson Ernest H. Rettig (both dressed in gray).

    Auto trip over Scenic Drive which crosses the Southern tip of the Franklin Mountains in El Paso, TX.
    Once a month the public was invited to the Fort Bliss parade grounds to watch the 1st Cavalry Division pass in review. Horse mounted troops, light armored vehicles, trucks and ambulance units participated.  Less than 4 years later, on Feb. 28, 1943, horses were retired from service and the mounted troops were converted to infantry.
