In this news footage for KDFW-TV, Dallas-based reporter and producer Jim Ruddy sits down with Mick Jagger of the The Rolling Stones. The Stones played at the Will Rogers Auditorium in Fort Worth on July 18, 1978. The show was part of the rock band’s US Tour 1978, the American concert tour in support of their recent album, Some Girls. Before the show, Ruddy met up with Jagger at a Dallas western wear store to talk about the inspiration for the song “Far Away Eyes” and the experience of playing smaller auditoriums. The Stones later released a concert film capturing the Fort Worth performance, Some Girls: Live in Texas ’78, in 2011.
