This October at the Archive:

We love you so much, Brownsville, that we are extending the dates for the Texas Film Round-Up! Now through October 12 drop off your Texas-related films and videos for free digitization at the Brownsville Public Library Main Branch at 2600 Central Blvd. We urge potential donors to search for their family films and videos in their attics, sheds, or garages and drop them off at the library's circulation desk. To qualify for free digitization, participants must be willing to donate a digital copy of their materials to TAMI's archive, a digital collection at texasarchive.org. We also collect copies of previously digitized Texas-related films. Help save your Texas history!

Celebrate National Archives Month at the first-ever Austin Archives Bazaar on October 19! Beginning at 2 pm at the Spider House Ballroom at 2906 Fruth St. in Austin, get together with the local community in a fun environment and learn about the amazing archival resources available in Austin and the Central Texas area. Check out all 20 of the participating archives and enjoy interactive activities, lightning talks, refreshments, and a screening of archival films of Austin and Central Texas.

Commemorate Travis County history and the 100th anniversary of the Agricultural Extension Services at 7^th annual Travis County History Day on October 24 at 10 am. TAMI will screen local agricultural films as part of the celebration that will feature historical displays and photographs, interactive exhibits, special speakers, and refreshments. Join us at 700 Lavaca Street in Austin for this special day!     

From October 31 – November 2, TAMI will present its educator resources at the Texas Council for the Social Studies 62nd Annual Conference in Galveston at the Moody Gardens Hotel. Education Specialist, Caitlin McColl, will present "Lights, Camera, Click!" showing new and accessible primary source Texas film resources. Stop by and learn more about our education program!
