Texas Film Round-Up - Abilene
 
This May, the Texas Archive of the Moving Image travels to Abilene's Paramount Theatre for a Texas Film Round-Up.  The event, hosted in conjunction with the Paramount Film Series, includes screenings of vintage films of Abilene curated by the Texas Archive, a feature film screening of the classic Texas film Bonnie and Clyde, and a drop-off for the Texas Film Round-Up free film and video digitization program.
 
Friday, May 10th
Free Digitization Drop-off: 6 - 8 pm
Screening: 7:30 pm
 
Saturday, May 11th
Free Digitization Drop-off: 1 - 8 pm
Film Screenings: 2 pm, 7:30 pm

The Texas Film Round-Up provides FREE digitization for Texas-related films and videos in exchange for the donation of a digital copy of the materials to www.texasarchive.org.  Since 2008, the program has provided new access to more than 12,000 films and videos and served hundreds of individuals and institutions.  The program is open to a variety of types of Texas films including home movies, advertisements, local television, community films, and more.
 
To qualify: 
  • Films or videos must be Texas-related (i.e. shot in Texas, shot by a Texan, or be about Texas) 
  • The owner must be willing and able to contribute a digital copy of the materials to the archive ( i.e., you are or you represent the copyright holder)
  • A total of no more than 50 films and videos may contributed per household, only 10 of which may be videos

The Texas Archive partners with the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame and Museum for a screening in Waco.   More details soon!
