TAMI is excited to bring the Texas Film Round-Up to San Angelo in January to provide residents with free digitization services for their Texas-related films and videos.  Local residents may drop-off materials at the Stephens Central Library, 33 W. Beauregard, San Angelo, TX  76903 (map) on January 18 – February 1, 2014 (Mondays through Saturdays only).  A collaboration between the Texas Archive of the Moving Image (TAMI) and the Texas Film Commission (TFC), the Film Round-Up accepts home movies, educational films, advertisements, local television, and other films in order to preserve Texas' media heritage.

To qualify for free digitization, participants must be willing to donate a digital copy of their materials to Texas Archive of the Moving Image, a digital collection of Texas streaming video at www.texasarchive.org.  Original films and videos will be returned to contributors after digitization— along with digital files or two DVD copies.

Winner of the 2010 American Association of State and Local History's Leadership in History Award of Merit and WOW Award, the Texas Film Round-Up has provided for the free digitization of more than 10,000 films in the last three years.   A selection of those films is available for free viewing at www.texasarchive.org

Read more about the free digitization program, and contact info@texasarchive.org with questions.  For exact hours and dates, visit the Stephen's Central Library's website.
