New Releases: July 2015

It's July, which means the official start to summer holiday season!  This month, our New Releases highlights three additions to TAMI's collection featuring vacation fun.  Whether your summer destination is an exotic beach or a Texas lake, TAMI's got you covered! Start with this picturesque 1959 home movie featuring El Paso's Edward and Evelyn Schwartz family in Hawaii -- the very same year it became the 50th U.S. state.  With great images of the El Paso family on a cruise around several of the islands, this video showcases some of the best intertitles in our collection, as well as some fabulous Hawaiian lei fashion!  Next, catch a 1970s industrial film produced by Bill Stokes Associates advertising the Grand Bahama Hotel, "Somewhere There Must Be an Island."  A dreamy woman in a flowing dress that represents the spirit of the Bahamas takes viewers around the resort.  The land-locked Dallas filmmakers made the beautiful beaches and outdoor activities of the Bahamas seem a stark contrast to the Big D's daily grind of work and traffic. Finally, join the Emerson Grooters family for a day at the lake! This black and white 1930s home movie captures scenes of the Grooters family swimming, canoeing, fishing, and, of course, feeding chipmunks. TAMI hopes you enjoy these films and your summer vacation!
