• The Texas Archive of the Moving Image and Melton Barker were featured in an article written by Dr. Caroline Frick in this season's Texas Heritage Magazine from the Texas Historical Foundation.
• Madeline Moya was honored to serve as a jury member for the Hecho en Tejas category at the 17th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival in Austin this April. The film festival offers theatrical screenings of films made by or about Latinos or indigenous peoples of the Americas. Films from Spain and Portugal are also included, creating a truly Pan-American cinematic experience. Sponsored by TAMI since 2010, the Hecho en Tejas category highlights the films at the festival made in Texas or by Texas filmmakers. After long deliberation, Moya selected the documentary LaDonna Harris: Indian 101, made by Austin-based filmmaker Julianna Brannum, for the prize. The film tells the story of LaDonna Harris, a Comanche activist and Women's Rights leader that began her activism during the Johnson administration.
• TAMI took the Texas Film Round-Up to Nacogdoches on April 26. We set up a booth at the Judy B. McDonald Library, where we took in collections and played a reel of Nacogdoches-area films from the Archive, which generated a lot of interest from local residents. The Round-Up will run through May 3rd at the library, so drop off your collections this week! We can't wait to see the footage we get from the great people around the area! 
• TAMI was excited to announce the launch of the Texas Archive of the Moving Image YouTube channel in April.
