This 1956 home movie showcases the beauty of Cuba, both the city and gardens of its capitol Havana and the factory town of Central Hershey, named after Milton Hershey of the Hershey company. Included in the film are the fields of sugar cane surrounding the Hershey Plant (then owned by the Cuban Atlantic Sugar Company), the electric railroad installed on the island during the 1920s by the Hershey Company, and scenes of Havana packed with locals and tourists. President John F Kennedy placed an embargo on Cuba seven years after this film was recorded, restricting all trade and travel between the countries, which continues, with slight modification, to this day.
