In this news segment for Houston’s KPRC-TV, broadcast on February 17, 1993, reporter Phil Archer tours the historic Taylor-Stevenson Ranch. Owned by the same family since its founding in 1875, the Taylor-Stevenson Ranch is a Texas Century Ranch. It is also the only Black-owned ranch with that distinction, and one of the oldest Black-owned ranches in the nation. Archer talks with Mollie Stevenson Jr., great-granddaughter of the ranch’s founders, about the history of the ranch as well as its mission to honor and educate the community about Black cowboy culture.
