This 1941 home movie captures two Texas Longhorns football games. First, the Thomas family attends the annual Red River Showdown between the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners on October 11, 1941. Before the game begins, the Longhorn Band welcomes the football team onto the field before a packed crowd at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. The Longhorns won 40–7. Later, the Thomases visit Houston for a game against the Rice Owls at Rice Stadium on October 25. The no. 2-ranked Longhorns shut out their opponent 40–0.
