This home movie captures scenes from the 1970 Smithville Jamboree parade, including local Boy Scout troops, the Smithville High School marching band, and the Jamboree Queen and her court. There are also schoolchildren dressed in costume, notably segregated by race. Jamboree began in the 1960s as an annual hometown celebration, featuring food vendors, street dances, a jelly and jam contest, and more. It now features a livestock show, live music, and a competition for Jamboree queen.
