The Austin Friends of Traditional Music Collection includes scenes and performances from the organization’s tenth anniversary celebration in 1984. This video features a performance by a bluegrass band of original music and Texas folk songs as well as a surprise set by famed singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt. Later considered one of the godfathers of alternative country, Van Zandt was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012.
