Presented by the Superior Oil Company in cooperation with Canadian Superior Oil and McIntyre Porcupine Mines, this 1970s industrial film surveys Superior’s diverse global operations. From offshore drilling along the Australian Continental Shelf to ore mining in Canada to cattle ranching in Texas, the Houston-based company and its subsidiaries demonstrate their commitment to the natural sciences through a variety of business sectors. Throughout its review, narrator Phil Tonkin pays particular attention to how Superior uses new technology to perform at even greater efficiency. Robert Yarnall Richie, who produced and directed this film, was a freelance industrial photographer and filmmaker who worked with various large corporations in Texas and around the globe.
