This trailer advertises the 1952 action/adventure film, The Iron Mistress, directed by Gordon Douglas and starring Alan Ladd and Virginia Mayo. The film was based off the novel of the same title written one year prior by Paul Iselin Wellman and tells the story of American pioneer Jim Bowie. Though Bowie gained notoriety through his participation in the Texas Revolution and his death during the Battle of the Alamo, the film focuses on his love affair for the 'beautiful yet deadly' Judalon de Bornay, compared by the trailer's narrator to the 'beautiful yet deadly' bowie knife. The Iron Mistress was Ladd's first film with Warner Brothers after spending his career with Paramount.
