    Civil rights lawyer Asberry Butler, the second African American elected to the HISD Board of Trustees. With colleagues Hattie Mae White and Gertrude Barnstone, Butler successfully pushed to racially integrate Houston's public schools. He served on the board from 1964 to 1968.
