    Fort Worth native William Walker performed with the Metropolitan Opera in New York City from 1962 to 1980. After retiring from singing in 1982, he taught master classes in music at Texas Christian University and Lamar University. From 1991 to 2002, Walker served as the general director of the Fort Worth Opera.
