In this silent home movie, the Schwartz family of El Paso visits John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida to witness the launch of Apollo 14 on January 31, 1971. Touring Launch Complex 39 the day before, they see the Saturn V launch vehicle already on Launch Pad 39A. The Schwartzes also explore the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), which houses the Command Module from Apollo 4, among other artifacts. On launch day, the family returns to the VAB, where a crowd has formed outside to watch the Apollo 14 liftoff. NASA astronaut Buzz Aldrin also attends, shaking hands with and signing autographs for fans.
