This home movie captures the 1947 senior prom at I.M. Terrell High School in Fort Worth. After showing slow-dancing couples, the film features a performance by a barbershop quartet. I.M. Terrell High School opened in 1882 as the East Ninth Street Colored School—the first free public school for African Americans in Fort Worth. The school closed in 1973 following the racial integration of Fort Worth's schools. The building now houses the I.M. Terrell Elementary School.
