In this unedited interview for Austin's KVUE-TV, Roy Faires sits down with writer/director Lawrence Kasdan and actor William Hurt to talk about their latest film, The Accidental Tourist (1988). The film received four Academy Award nominations, including one for Best Picture. In the interview, Hurt discusses the differences between him and his characters while Kasdan responds to growing Oscar buzz about the film. Both men also describe the benefits of their professional relationship, having previously worked together on Body Heat (1981) and The Big Chill (1983). Faires worked as a special project director and entertainment critic/reporter at KVUE-TV, Austin's ABC affiliate, from 1976-1989.
