In this 1931 western directed by Louis King, Buck Jones plays Jim Houston, a Texas Ranger from the fictional border town of Wyko. After Houston's brother is killed by a gang of bandits, he and fellow Ranger Thunder Rogers (Frank Rice) resign from their posts and cross the border into Mexico, planning to infiltrate the gang and orchestrate the members' capture, dead or alive. Originally produced by Columbia Pictures Corporation, the film was one of several sold to Hygo Television Films in the 1950s for television syndication. The company marketed the film under the name Gail Pictures, as seen in the opening titles here. Columbia acquired Hygo a few years later to make it a part of the studio's own television production house, Screen Gems.
