Six Flags AstroWorld opened in 1968 as part of the Astrodomain, a development complex owned by former mayor of Houston Roy Hofheinz. Six Flags bought the park in 1975, operating it until its closure in 2005.
This 1976 home movie captures a Saucedo family vacation to Houston. First, they visit the Houston Zoo, where they see a variety of animals. Then, the Saucedos enjoy the attractions at Six Flags AstroWorld, including the Bamboo Shoot log flume ride and the Astroway skyride. Back home in Corpus Christi, the family plays in the backyard with the family dog and plays tennis.
