This home movie captures scenes of a United Farm Workers Organizing Committee (UFWOC) rally in Rio Grande City, Texas circa 1973 and an Avena family Christmas. At the rally, amid the crowd, are signs that read "Free Cesar", referring to the labor leader's 1973 arrest after his refusal to limit picketing. Also included are images of banners and signs reflecting UFWOC's recent acceptance into the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). UFWOC changed their name to United Farm Workers (UFW), as we know it today, shortly thereafter. Scenes of a young Rebecca Avena decorating the Christmas tree are also included.
