The Texas Film Round-Up Comes to Alpine!

The Texas Archive of the Moving Image will bring its award-winning Texas Film Round-Up to Alpine this summer! From July 6-8, individuals interested in our FREE digitization program can drop off their Texas-related films and videotapes at the Bryan Wildenthal Memorial Library on the Sul Ross State University campus from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. We encourage citizens of Alpine, Marfa, Ft. Davis, and all of the Trans-Pecos Region to dig their films and videos out of attics and garages and bring them to the Round-Up for free digitization!

Parking on the SRSU campus: See parking map here. Please enter via Entrance 4 on N Harrison Street (the blue arrow on the map points here). There is also a circle drive (via Entrance 3) leading to the front door of the Library where visitors are welcome to park (the red arrow on the map).

On Friday, July 7, join TAMI at Marfa's El Cosmico for a free screening of Robert Altman's Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean (1982). Bar opens at 6 pm, DJ Little Danny will provide live music to a pre-show of TAMI footage beginning at 8:30 pm, and the feature film will follow. Films and videotapes can also be dropped off during the screening. Come back to El Cosmico July 8 at 6:00 pm for a moderated discussion about the film, part of an ongoing series in partnership with Sul Ross State University and El Cosmico.
